- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. oleo or vegetable shortening
- 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 c. flour
- 3/4 c. pecans (optional)
Directions

1Mix all together.

2Put 1/4 in bowl and color deep yellow.

3Use 1 level teaspoonful and roll in balls.

4Freeze.

5Divide 3/4 of dough into 3 parts and tint pink, green, etc.

6Take one level teaspoonful.

7Shape around yellow balls.

8Refrigerate.

9Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets 1 inch apart. Do not brown too much.
