  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. oleo or vegetable shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. pecans (optional)

    Mix all together.

    Put 1/4 in bowl and color deep yellow.

    Use 1 level teaspoonful and roll in balls.

    Freeze.

    Divide 3/4 of dough into 3 parts and tint pink, green, etc.

    Take one level teaspoonful.

    Shape around yellow balls.

    Refrigerate.

    Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets 1 inch apart. Do not brown too much.
