Easy Apple Dumplings

- 5 medium tart apples (or pears)
- 5 refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons margarine or 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions

1Core applies. Pare or leave skins on.

2Roll out each biscuit thinly using a rolling pin. (be sure to dust with flour).

3Place an apple in the center of each biscuit.

4Fill centers with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. (1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon).

5Dot each apple with 2 teaspoons of margarine/butter.

6Wrap up with apple in biscuit and seal with fingers.

7Boil 2/3 cup sugar and water with 2 tablespoons of margarine/butter for 3 minutes.

8Pour syrup around apples in flat casserole dish.

9Bake at 425 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

10*Best served hot and even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
