  • 2 lb. stew beef
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 4 carrots, cut into small pieces
  • 3 celery sticks, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sherry
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • paprika to taste

Directions

    Place meat in roasting pan.

    Season with salt, pepper, paprika and onion soup mix.

    Add potatoes, carrots and celery.

    In a saucepan, blend celery soup with sherry and pour over meat and vegetables.

    Cover and bake at 250° to 300° for 4 1/2 to 5 hours.
