Easy Cheesy Garlic Bread

  • 1 loaf Italian bread or ciabatta bread, 16 oz. loaf, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, etc.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    Preheat oven to 375°F.

    Line baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place bread halves, cut side up, on sheet.

    Spread softened butter evenly over bread halves. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, shredded cheese, and Parmesan.

    Bake garlic bread on middle rack of oven, rotating pan halfway through cooking time, until cheese is melted and bread is light golden-brown at edges, 15-20 minutes.

    Check to see that bread is done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.

    Cut bread into 2- to 3-inch slices, and serve.
