  • 1 1/2 lb. beef stew meat
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1/4 c. frozen peas
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 can water
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed

Directions

    Place beef in a 3-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt, basil and pepper.

    Top with celery, carrots, potatoes, onions and peas.

    Combine soup and water.

    Pour over meat and vegetables, coating all pieces. Cover tightly and bake at 300° for 3 hours. Makes its own gravy.
