  • 2 lb. beef, cut for stew
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pepper and paprika to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 4 small onions, quartered
  • 4 carrots, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 4 potatoes, quartered
  • 1 c. celery, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 c. water

Directions

    Mix together flour, salt, pepper and paprika; sprinkle over beef.

    Toss floured beef in oil that has been put in 3-quart casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 30 minutes.
