  • 3/4 lb. boneless beef round steak, cubed
  • 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 5 medium carrots, cut into chunks
  • 1 celery rib, cut in 1-inch chunks
  • 1 large onion, cut in 1-inch chunks
  • 1 can chunky stewed tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. frozen peas

    In a Dutch oven, brown the steak in oil.

    Add the next 8 ingredients; cover and bake at 300° for 4 to 5 hours, stirring twice.

    Add the peas during the last 30 minutes of cooking time. This is a good recipe for a busy day.
