- 2 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. honey
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm (not hot) water
- 6 to 8 c. flour
Directions

1Scald milk; add honey, salt and butter (set aside).

2Combine yeast and water while milk is cooling to lukewarm, then add together.

3Add enough flour to make a thick batter (like pancake). Cover and let rise about 1 hour, until double.

4Beat down with a wooden spoon and let rise again.

5Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.

6Knead 8 to 10 minutes.

7Put dough in lightly greased bowl and let rise until double.

8Knead 2 to 3 minutes.

9Split dough and put into loaf pans.

10Let rise.

11Bake at 375° for

1245 minutes. Lower temperature to 350° and bake until tops are golden brown and bottoms sound hollow when tapped.
