Easy Whole Wheat Rolls

Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. plus 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 to 3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 3 to 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl.

2Add shortening, eggs, sugar and salt.

3Beat together in mixer or stir real well. Gradually stir in enough of both flours to create a soft dough. Turn out.

4Knead until smooth.

5Place in a well-greased bowl. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled.

6Punch dough down. Roll out to thickness desired.

7Cut with biscuit cutter.

8Place on greased cookie sheet about 2-inches apart.

9Cover; let rise in warm place about 30 minutes.

10Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.

11Brush top with melted butter, if desired.

12I always butter mine with real butter as soon as they come out of oven.

13Makes lots, about 4 dozen.
