  • 18 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 1 1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • 1 lb. sharp cheese
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 c. whole milk or half and half

Directions

    Make a white sauce of butter, flour and milk; add cheese. Season with 1/4 teaspoon each of thyme, marjoram and basil.

    Make 3 layers of egg, bacon and sauce.

    Sprinkle snipped parsley over top.

    Cover with buttered crumbs.

    Bake for 1/2 hour at 350° or until bubbly.
