  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/3 c. milk, scalded
  • 1 c. whipping cream (not whipped)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • nutmeg*

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together and pour into a 9-inch crust. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Center should be a bit shaky when you take the custard out.

    Put on rack to cool.

    The center will set as it cools.
