- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Melt butter.

2Add milk; heat to scalding (not boil).

3Beat the eggs slightly.

4Add sugar and vanilla; stir into milk.

5Strain into a 9-inch pastry lined pan.

6Sprinkle with nutmeg.

7Bake at 475° for 10 minutes.

8Turn control to 375° and bake 10 minutes longer.

9(Before filling crust, brush the crust with unbeaten egg whites.)
