  • 6 eggs, at room temperature and separated
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. heavy cream, well chilled
  • 3 c. cold milk
  • 2 oz. vanilla
  • freshly grated nutmeg

Directions

    In a large bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.

    Gradually add sugar and beat until whites begin to stiffen.

    In another large bowl, beat the yolks until they drop from the spoon in a heavy ribbon.

    Beat the whites into the yolks until thoroughly blended. In a large bowl, whip the cream until it begins to hold its shape. Beat the egg gradually into the cream.

    Stir in milk.

    Pour mixture into the punch bowl.

    Sprinkle top with nutmeg.
