  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked deep pie shell
  • 2 c. milk, scalded
  • nutmeg

Directions

    Thoroughly mix eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Slowly stir in hot milk. At once, pour into pie shell. Sprinkle top with nutmeg. Bake at 475° for 5 minutes; reduce heat to 425° and bake 10 minutes or longer until knife inserted comes out clean. Do not overcook!
