- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- oil for deep frying
Directions

1Beat egg yolks, vanilla, salt and water together until lemon colored.

2Stir sugar into flour; mix liquid and dry ingredients together.

3Knead on a floured board until surface blisters.

4Cut to 2-inch parallelograms and slit center from longest points of dough.

5Curl back tops to slit in opposite directions.

6Fry in deep hot pot until brown.

7Makes 3 dozen.
