  • 8 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 pt. brandy (optional)
  • 3/4 c. rum (optional)
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 1 qt. heavy cream or ice cream (vanilla ice cream is the best!)
  • nutmeg to sprinkle on top

Directions

    Beat egg yolks until light and fluffy.

    Then add sugar.

    (Add brandy, then rum, if desired.)

    Add milk and 3/4 of a half gallon of vanilla ice cream.

    Beat egg whites until stiff and add to mixture, mixing well.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg.

    Better to let stand overnight.
