- 1 Tbsp. gelatin
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1/4 c. sugar
- bourbon, to taste
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 2 (9-inch) baked pie shells
Directions

1Soften gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes.

2Combine egg yolks, 1/4 cup sugar, nutmeg, salt and milk.

3Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly.

4Remove from heat and add softened gelatin and fold in egg whites which have been beaten stiff with 1/4 cup sugar.

5Add bourbon or bourbon flavoring to taste.

6Fold in 1 cup of whipped cream.

7Pour into shells and refrigerate until serving time.
