Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 minced clove garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 - 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 lg. bag corn chips
  • 1/2 lb. (about 2 c.) grated cheese (sharp or mild)
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1 c. black olives, halved (optional)

Directions

    Brown beef, onion, and garlic in butter.

    Add seasoning, olives, and tomato sauce.

    In a 2 quart casserole dish, alternate layers of corn chips, meat sauce, and 1 1/2 c. cheese.

    Top with remaining 1/2 c. cheese.

    Add 2/3 c. water.

    Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or longer if cheese has not melted.

    Serve with salad.
