Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can ripe black olives, chopped
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 6 tortillas, buttered
  • shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/8 c. water

Directions

    Saute ground beef, onion and garlic in butter.

    Add seasonings, olives and tomato sauce.

    In a round 2-quart casserole, alternate layers of buttered tortillas, meat sauce and cheese, ending with tortillas and cheese.

    Pour water down side of casserole dish, cover and bake at 400° for 30 minutes.

    Cut into wedges.
