- 2 pkg. Fleischmann's active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. very warm water (110~ to 115~)
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk, scalded, then cooled
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in very warm water.

2Stir in remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth (100 strokes).

3Cover and let rise 1 hour.

4Beat down and pour into greased 10-inch tube pan.

5Let rise to within 1-inch of top of pan (45 minutes).

6Heat oven to 350° (moderate).

7Bake 45 or 50 minutes.

8Serve hot. Makes 16 servings.
