  • 8 c. cucumbers
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced onion
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed

Directions

    Cut cucumbers in 1/8-inch thick slices. Place in large bowl with onions, salt and water. Let stand 2 hours, stirring occasionally; drain but do not rinse. Return cucumbers to bowl. Add sugar, vinegar and celery seed. Let stand, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves and covers the cucumbers. Pack in freezer containers. Seal and freeze. When ready to use, thaw and store in refrigerator.
