  • 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 5 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese or Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

    Add mushrooms.

    Cook over low heat, covered, until wilted.

    In saucepan, blend 3 tablespoons of butter with flour and add milk, sour cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg and stir until thickened.

    Pour mushrooms into casserole.

    Pour on sauce.

    Sprinkle with bread crumbs and cheese.

    Bake at 350° until hot; serve.
