Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. cheeses (Cheddar or Mozzarella or some of each)
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pinch onion salt (about 1/8 tsp.)
  • 1 pinch garlic salt (about 1/8 tsp.)
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. melted butter

    Sift all dry ingredients into a bowl.

    Make a well in the center.

    In a separate bowl, beat egg with butter and stir into milk.

    Pour all at once into flour well.

    Stir just to moisten ingredients, adding cheeses (about 15 full circular strokes that scrape bottom of bowl; batter will look lumpy).

    Grease a baking sheet.

    Spoon lumps of batter onto baking sheet.

    Bake in a hot 425° oven for about 25 minutes or until well browned.

    Makes about a dozen rolls.
