Orange Date Nut Cake

- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 4 c. sifted plain flour
- 4 Tbsp. grated orange rind
- 1 lb. dates, chopped fine
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating between each addition.

3Dissolve and stir soda in buttermilk. Alternate adding flour and buttermilk mixture.

4Add rind, dates and nuts.

5Bake in tiny buttered muffin tins at 325° for approximately 20 minutes, or bake in greased and floured tube pan until a toothpick inserted into middle of cake comes out clean. While still hot, spoon over the glaze.
