  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and margarine. Cool until lukewarm. Put water in warm bowl (large) and sprinkle yeast over water; stir until dissolved.

    Add milk; mix egg, 2 cups flour and beat until smooth. Stir in enough flour to make soft dough. Cover and let rise, about 30 minutes. Punch down. Make

    in 2 dozen rolls or divide into 4 pieces on a greased pie plate for sub rolls or add 2 cups raisins for raisin bread. Let rise 30 minutes. Grease pans bread is to be baked in. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
