Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpeas already soaked and boiled, until tender. You may use two cans of chickp
  • 3 loaves pita bread white or wheat flour
  • 2 cups chickpeas boiled water
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup tehini
  • 1 clove crushed garlic
  • pepper
  • pine nuts Fried, or Almonds for garnish. You may use finely cut

    Bake the pita bread chips until golden in color. Place in a deep dish You can still fry the bread in oil until golden brown but this will make your recipe higher in calories and fat.

    To make the sauce, add yogurt, Tahini, Lemon juice, Salt, Garlic and the Hot chili peppers if you are using them. Mix to a smooth finish. You do not need an electric mixer for this step, a whisk or a fork would do

    Heat up the chickpeas with the water until boiling
