- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 2 Tbsp. onion, minced (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. mustard
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 lb. frankfurters
Directions

1Combine flour, cornmeal, onion, sugar and mustard; stir well. Combine milk and eggs.

2Add dry ingredients, stirring well.

3Set aside.

4Wipe each frankfurter dry and insert a wooden stick into one end.

5Dip frankfurter in batter.

6Fry in deep, hot oil at 375° for 2 to 3 minutes or until brown, turning once.

7Drain well on paper towels.

8Repeat with remaining frankfurters.
