  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water. Add buttermilk and mix. In a separate bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in shortening; add buttermilk mixture. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
