  • 1 (5 oz.) pkg. vermicelli
  • 1 lb. ground meat or 1 lb. thinly sliced round steak
  • 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 to 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped or mashed through garlic press
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 c. water

    Brown ground meat and onion in saucepan.

    In another large skillet brown vermicelli and garlic in oil.

    Add ground meat, chili powder, tomatoes and 1 cup water to vermicelli.

    Cover tightly and simmer for 10 minutes.

    Makes 4 large servings.
