- 2 medium onions
- 2 jalapeno peppers
- 4 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 lb. coarsely ground beef
- 4 c. Mexican chili beans/chili hot beans
- 2 cans condensed tomato soup
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
Directions

1Melt fat in deep heavy pan; add chopped onions and diced jalapenos and cook over low heat until done, but not browned.

2Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 10 minutes.

3Drain liquid from beans into small bowl and save.

4Add beans, soup, chili powder and salt to beef in pan.

5Stir well.

6Cover pan and let chili cook slowly over low heat for about 30 minutes.

7If chili gets too dry, add desired amount of bean liquid.

8Can be made ahead of time and reheated.

9It even tastes better the next day.
