Oven Fried Fish

  • 1 lb. fresh or frozen fish fillets or steaks, thawed
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Cut fish in 2 or 3 portions, according to size. Dip fish into beaten egg, then into bread crumbs.

    Place coated fish in a well-greased, shallow baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drizzle a mixture of melted butter or margarine and lemon juice over fish.

    Bake in oven at 400° until golden brown. Allow 5 to 6 minutes for each 1/2-inch of thickness.
