- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 1 c. chopped figs
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
Directions

1Spray loaf pan with Pam.

2Cream margarine until fluffy.

3Beat in brown sugar and egg.

4Stir in milk and vinegar.

5Add sifted dry ingredients gradually until well blended.

6Add nuts and chopped figs.

7Bake at 350° for 1 hour to 1 1/4 hours, until firm in center.

8Cool; remove from pan.

9Slice real thin and serve with butter or whipped cream cheese.
