  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped fig preserves and juice
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

    Mix all dry ingredients; add cooking oil.

    Add eggs, one at a time; alternate with milk, then add figs and vanilla.

    Bake in tube pan for 1 hour at 350°.
