  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. fig preserves with juice
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. pecans

    Sift dry ingredients and cooking oil and blend. Add eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, figs and pecans. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes in a 12 x 9 x 2 pan.
