- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. self-rising flour
- 1 pt. preserved figs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine egg, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Beat with spoon or low speed of mixer. Add oil and flour. Blend. Add figs to stiff batter.

2Pour into baking pan which has been oiled and floured.

3Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Cut in squares and serve warm or cool.

4If plain flour is used, add 1 to 2 teaspoons soda.
