  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c. mashed or cut, fresh figs

    Add beaten eggs and vanilla.
