- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 2 tsp. hot water
- 2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1 1/4 c. chopped fig preserves
Directions

5Add oil and beat well. Then add eggs and buttermilk.

6Gradually add figs, nuts and the soda

8Pour into a greased flat pan and bake at 325°
