  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 2 tsp. hot water
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 1/4 c. chopped fig preserves

    Mix flour,

    Add oil and beat well. Then add eggs and buttermilk.

    Gradually add figs, nuts and the soda

    Pour into a greased flat pan and bake at 325°

    for 45 minutes.

    While cake is still hot, pour glaze over it.
