  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. fig preserves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp. cloves

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and spices.

    Gradually add oil and beat well.

    Add figs, nuts and vanilla.

    Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°.

    Pour sauce over cake while still warm.
