- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. Wesson oil
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. fig preserves
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp. cloves
Directions

1Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and spices.

2Gradually add oil and beat well.

3Add figs, nuts and vanilla.

4Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°.

5Pour sauce over cake while still warm.
