  • 3 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 qt. figs, whole or mashed
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans

    Sift flour, cornstarch and spices in a large mixing bowl.

    Pour in buttermilk and beat well.

    Stir in figs, nuts and vanilla.

    Mix well.

    Bake in loaf pan or Bundt pan at 325° for 45 minutes.
