- 2 c. scalded milk
- 7 to 8 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 to 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cake yeast, softened in 1/4 c. warm water
- 3/4 to 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 7 or 8 cardamom seed, crushed
Directions

1Mix together the milk, yeast and about 1/3 of the flour.

2Beat well and let stand 1 hour.

3Stir in the sugar, salt, butter, eggs and cardamom seed; beat well. Add the rest of the flour and knead the dough thoroughly.

4Let rise until double in size.

5Shape in loaves or rolls and let rise again.

6Bake at 375° to 400° for 30 minutes.
