- 1 pound salt cod (bacalhau)
- 2 each hardbread
- 1 cup salt pork diced
Directions

1Cut cod into serving-size pieces.

2Soak cod and hardbread separately in cold water for 8 hours or overnight.

3Drain fish.

4In saucepan, cover fish with cold water.

5Heat to boiling and boil gently for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender; drain.

6Meanwhile, in skillet, fry salt pork until golden.

7Drain bread and place in saucepan, cover with salted water and bring to a full boil.

8Drain immediately and serve with fish on warm plates.

9Sprinkle with scrunchions.
