- 2/3 c. beer or club soda
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. Bisquick
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 2 1/2 to 3 lb. fish fillets
Directions

1With wire whisk in medium bowl, combine beer or club soda, lemon juice, egg, Bisquick and flour.

2When smooth, let stand 10 minutes.

3Moisten and lightly flour fish fillets.

4Let dry a few minutes.

5Dip to coat in wet batter.

6Do not use tongs.

7Use tip of sharp knife to spear fillets.

8Drop batter coated fillets into 385° oil, a few at a time, frying a few minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.

9Serves 4.
