Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb. fresh fish
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 6 to 8 peppercorns
  • 1 c. diced ham or bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 c. diced potatoes
  • 2 cans cream of celery soup
  • milk
  • hot pepper sauce

Directions

    Poach fish in some water, vinegar and peppercorns until it flakes.

    Remove, drain and flake.
  3. 3
    Saute ham or bacon in margarine. Add vegetables and continue until these are softened.

    Add milk and soup.

    Continue heating while stirring, but do not allow to boil. Add the fish and heat a few more minutes.

    May also be served cold.
