Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 can Carnation milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 small pkg. or 1 qt. and 1 small pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. black walnuts
  • 1 c. pecans

    Mix sugar and milk in large pot.

    Boil 6 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat.

    Add salt, butter, vanilla, cream of tartar and chocolate chips.

    Stir well until mixed.

    Add nuts. Pour into greased pan and cool at room temperature for 1 hour. Cool in refrigerator for 1 hour.

    Cut into squares and serve.
