- 1 whole chicken (2 1/2 lb.), cut
- 1/3 c. soya sauce
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. crushed anise seeds
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
Directions

1Place chicken in a shallow glass dish.

2Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over chicken.

3Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

4Occasionally spoon marinade over chicken.

5Remove chicken from marinade but preserve marinade.

6Place chicken in an ungreased glass baking dish.

7Brush marinade on chicken.

8Cook uncovered at 350°F for 1 hour, occasionally brushing with marinade.

9Serve with mashed potatoes.
