- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat oven to 425°.

2In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.

3Cut in shortening until crumbly.

4Stir in buttermilk just until moistened.

5Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.

6Knead until smooth (1 minute).

7Roll out dough to 3/4-inch thickness.

8Cut into 8 (2-inch) biscuits; place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet.

9Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned.
