  • 15/16 cup butter
  • 1 7/16 cups caster sugar
  • 6 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 6 1/8 cups rolled oats

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C/400 degrees F/gas mark 6.

    Put the butter sugar and syrup in a heavy based saucepan heat until the butter has melted; add the oats.

    Mix well.

    Tip the mixture into a 30 x 20cm shallow baking tin and cook for about 15 minutes until golden in colour.

    Cool a little before cutting into equal pieces.
