Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or sugar substitute such as splenda)
  • 1 cup almonds or hazelnuts, lightly toasted and chopped
  • 1/4 lb. candied orange peel or apricot cut fine
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • dash of salt

Directions

    -blend all ingredients thoroughly in a mixing bowl

    -drop 1 tbsp portions 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet lined with parchment paper

    -flatten with knife dipped in cold water into thin disk

    -Bake at 350 C until brown around the edges, about 10 minutes. May not brown if using splenda.

    -let cool and then using a brush apply one or two coats of melted chocolate on one side.

    Let cool.
