- 1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cut into small pieces
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 5 carrots, sliced
- 5 potatoes, sliced
- 1 c. chopped celery (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 (12 oz.) cans V-8 juice
Directions

1Put stew meat in bottom of casserole dish.

2Layer onion, carrots, potatoes and celery.

3Add salt and pepper.

4Sprinkle with sugar and cornstarch.

5Pour V-8 juice on top.

6Cover and bake 3 1/2 hours at 300°.
