- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. cold water
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- 1 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.

2Add sugar gradually.

3Add cold water and mix thoroughly.

4Sift flour before measuring, then sift 4 times with salt, baking powder and cornstarch.

5Add eggs and sugar; mix.

6Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and bake in ungreased tube pan in slow 320° oven for 1 hour.
